The following prayers were taken from "The Catholic Book of Prayers" edited by Rev. Maurus Fitzgerald, O.F.M.

Prayer is the part by which we can enter into intimate communion with God our Father, with Jesus, and with the Holy Spirit. By means of prayer we also comunicate with Mary, the Mother of Jesus and our Mother as well, and with all the Saints in heaven together with whom we form one single Body, one single Church, with Jesus Christ as our Savior and Leader.

Prayer holds the key to our true happiness, our perseverance in faith and grace, our strength to avoid falling into sin, and our willingnes to bear the weight of sorrows and trials. Prayer holds the key to our eternal salvation.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven and sits at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting, Amen.

Our Father, who art in Heaven; hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen

Glory be to the Father, to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

As I arise today, may the strength of God pilot me, the power of God uphold me, the wisdom of God guide me. May the eye of God look before me, the ear of God hear me, the word of God speak for me. May the hand of God protect me, the way of God lie before me, the shield of God defend me, the host of God save me. May Christ shield me today... Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right side, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit, Christ when I stand, Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everone who speaks of me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every earthat hears me. (St. Patrick)

JESUE Christ, my God, I adore You and I thank You for the many favors You have bestowed on me this day. I offer You my sleep and all the moments of this night, and I pray you to preseve me from sin. Therefore, I place myself in Your most sacred Side and under the mantle of our Blessed Lady, my Mother. May the holy angels assist me and keep me in peace, and may Your blessings be upon me.

We beseech You, O Lord, to visit this home, and to drive far from it all the snares of the enemy; let Your hold angels dwell therein so as to present us in peace; and let Your blessings be alwas upon us. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
