| Novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe,Queen and Mother of America Each day pray the Invocation for that day, the Refrain and an Our Father, 3 Hail Marys and a Glory Be. Refrain: O Lady of Guadalupe, pray for the Church in America and walk with us in the new millennium of faith. Invocation Day 1: Mary, Mother of Jesus, hear the prayer of the Church in America, a people rich in promise, a people much in need of God's mercy. As you first brought faith to these lands, be with us in the jubilee of our redemption. Refrain: O Lady of Guadalupe.... Our Father..., Hail Mary...(3x), Glory be..... Invocation Day 2: Mary, Mother of America, hear the many voices of our land, pleading for the mercy of your son, seeking the shepherd's voice to lead them home. Hear the praise of your sons and daughters and bid your son to free us from the scourges of addiction, selfishness, and want. Refrain: O Lady of Guadalupe.... Our Father...., Hail Mary....(3x), Glory be..... Invocation Day 3: Mary, Mother of Compassion, hear the prayer of those most in need of God's mercy. Hear the little child whose belly hungers, the old man with no one to love, the mother tempted to abandon her child. Pray for them to the author of life, that the fruit of your womb may save and protect them. Refrain: O Lady of Guadalupe.... Our Father...., Hail Mary....(3x), Glory be.... Invocation Day 4: Mary, Mother of Conversion, pray to your son for the virtue of hope. Pray him to free us from doubt and to give us the courage of the children of God. Pray that the light of the world may dispel the darkness of our fear, remaking our stony hearts in the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus your Son. Refrain: O Lady of Guadalupe.... Our Father...., Hail Mary....(3x), Glory be.... Invocation Day 5: Mary, Mother of all Saints, pray for your children in America. Pray for those who seek to imitate your example in humble service to the Gospel of Life and the poorest of the poor. Pray that your son may lead us from the darkness of sin to the light of his eternal glory. Refrain: O Lady of Guadalupe.... Our Father...., Hail Mary....(3x), Glory be.... Invocation Day 6: Mary, Mother of Unity, intercede for the Church in America, that we may be gathered together to form the one people of the New Covenant. Mother of the human race, ask your son to pour out upon us a spirit of compassion and solidarity. Refrain: O Lady of Guadalupe.... Our Father...., Hail Mary....(3x), Glory be.... Invocation Day 7: Mary, Mother of the Church, help the Church in these lands to follow your example of sublime love and profound humility. With you, may we be obedient to the commandment of love, and give our selves whole heartedly to seeking the glory of Christ and serving the needs of our brothers and sisters. Invocation Day 8: Mary, Mother of all Christians, hear the prayers of all who worship the name of your Son, Jesus, our hope and salvation. Invocation Day 9: God of power and mercy, you blessed the Americas at Tepeyac with the presence of the Virgin Mary of Guadalupe. By her prayers enable all people to accept each other as brothers and sisters. Instill justice in our hearts that your peace may reign in the world. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Refrain: O Lady of Guadalupe.... Our Father...., Hail Mary....(3x), Glory be.... ~HOW TO PRAY THE CHAPLET OF OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE~ Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mystical Rose, make intercession for our Holy Church, protect the sovereign Pontiff, help all those who invoke you in their necessities, and since you are the ever Virgin Mary and Mother of the true God, obtain for us from your most Holy Son the grace of keeping our faith, of sweet hope in the midst of the bitterness of life, of burning charity, and the precious gift of final perseverance. Our Father Four Hail Marys in honor of her four appearances Gloria ----------------------------------------------------------- FIRST APPARITION: Our Lady of Guadalupe appears to Blessed Juan Diego and requests a temple in her honor. Our Father Meditation: Our Lady of Guadalupe, my Queen and my Mother, I thank You for your first apparition to Blessed Juan Diego when you revealed that you are the most Pure Virgin Mary, Mother of the True God, and Mother of all mankind. I thank you for requesting a temple to be built where you stood, to bear witness to your love, your compassion, your aid and your protection for all who would love you, and invoke your help. Three Hail Marys Gloria ----------------------------------------------------------- SECOND APPARITION: Our Lady of Guadalupe gives Blessed Juan Diego encouragement after his return from the Bishop's house. Our Father Meditation: Our Lady of Guadalupe, my Queen and my Mother, I thank you for your second apparition to Blessed Juan Diego when upon his return from the Bishop's house, he knelt in humiliation and defeat before you since he was unable to accomplish your mission. I thank you for the courage and encouragement you gave to Blessed Juan Diego to make a second appeal to the Bishop. Three Hail Marys Gloria ----------------------------------------------------------- THIRD APPARITION: Our Lady of Guadalupe promises a sign to Blessed Juan Diego for the Bishop. Our Father Meditation: Our Lady of Guadalupe, my Queen and my Mother, I thank you for your third apparition to Blessed Juan Diego when, after this unsuccessful attempt to have a temple built, you said to him, "So be it son. Return tomorrow in order that you may secure for the bishop, the sign for which he has asked. When this is in your possession, he will believe you; he will no longer doubt your word and suspect your good faith. Be assured that I shall reward you for all that you have undergone." Three Hail Marys Gloria ----------------------------------------------------------- FOURTH APPARITION: Our Lady of Guadalupe fulfills her promise by showing herself on the tilma of Blessed Juan Diego. Our Father Meditation: Our Lady of Guadalupe, my Queen and My Mother, I thank you for your fourth apparition to Blessed Juan Diego when you ordered him to pick the roses he would find on the summit of the hill and bring them to you. I thank you for arranging them in his tilma when you said, "This cluster of roses is the sign that you shall take to the bishop. You are to tell him in my name, that in this he will recognize my will and that he must fulfill it. You will be my ambassador, wholly worthy of my confidence. Only in the presence of the bishop shall you unfold your mantle and disclose what you carry." I thank you for your image printed on the tilma which appeared when the roses were released. Three Hail Marys Gloria ----------------------------------------------------------- Closing Prayer Remember O most gracious Virgin Mary that never was it known that anyone that fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence I fly unto you, O Virgin of Virgins, my mother; to you I come, before you I stand sinful and sorrowful.
